Introduction to Mafia Wars – part 2

Choosing your name and character
Name changes are allowed but it will cost you – a lot! Choose carefully. Consider all the coolest Mafia names and then decide wisely. Unlike names, change in character is not permitted in Mafia Wars. Think about it for a bit and then make your choice based on how you would like to dominate the game. The choices of cash rich, high in energy and superb in health are the three choices available in the form of Mogul, Maniac and Fearless.

Mogul
This is the least interesting of the three characters. A Mogul earns money every 54 minutes compared to other characters that will usually generate it in the interval span of 60 minutes. However, earning an income is the hard way. Mafia Wars is about having passive income. This character may be useful until about level 40 where other things become priority than earning an income. The only plus point of being a Mogul is it allows you to become a Bagman in your friend’s Top Mafia. This is where you can double money from performing jobs. Once again, this is of no real use when passive income can be generated elsewhere.

Maniac
If you like to pick a fight and want to always win, this is the character for you. A Maniac can qualify to become a Button man that gives you automatic win over any fight you start. What better way to become a true Mafia! Choosing to be a Maniac, your energy regenerates every 3 minutes instead of 5 to earn one point in comparison to other characters. This character gives you more speed to level but this also means more energy refills from Energy Paks. It will also take the thrill away during initiation of fights. If the outcome is spelled out i.e. a sure win, it no longer has the element of surprise and excitement.

Fearless
This character should be considered if you intend to advance Mafia Wars on a long-term basis. You will restore energy faster than Mogul and Maniac. One must look deeper than just the health regeneration itself. Imagine where jobs do not cost energy. This will be especially valuable at higher levels where jobs cost a lot. This is where the chance to be Wheel Man comes in with the Top Mafia. It is an irresistible opportunity for many players who can see how enticing it is later part in the game.

Skills
Making the right decision is an important part of the game. Mafia Wars is not a game for idiots. It requires a lot of thought. Make your first skill points count by upgrading your energy to at least 30 before moving on to other stats. Only then you should you use to begin to spend it.

Is starting over permitted?
Functions mirroring Ctrl+Alt+Del is not permitted in Mafia Wars. The good news is, an option to delete the application is available. The bad news, though, you have to wait 60 days to get back in. Time and tide wait for no man. Need not waste your time doing this. In the event you still decide that deleting the application is in the best of your interest, remember that choices you make outside of character type cannot be fixed. Make the best of what you already have and work your way up.
